Bombonniere

Bombonniere originally came from the Greeks and Italians. They are small gifts that are presented to the guests as a thank you for being part of the wedding and for their gift. The custom is that a piece of the bride and groom’s luck goes home with each bombonniere. They traditionally contain five white sugar coated almonds, which represent health, wealth, happiness, fertility and long life. Nowadays, bombonniere come in a variety of gifts such as chocolates, miniature liqueur bottles, coasters, or champagne glasses.
